There are always at least two handlers out during a pack hike at all times. Each handler is responsible for up to 3 dogs at a time, with breed and size factoring into this. We keep our pack adventures small on purpose and focus on giving each of our dogs specialized attention so they have enough time to enjoy the outdoors, their canine friends, and handlers throughout the adventure.
Our prices vary depending on the type of service, frequency, and the number of pups in the household. Please visit our services page or contact us to determine which package may be best for you and your fur-baby.
Our vehicles are fitted with crates of all sizes, safety belts, and harnesses to transport the pack. If there are special harnesses or crate requirements, we are happy to accommodate. We are also licensed, bonded and insured for pet care and transport. We always pack emergency first-aid kits, extra bottles of water, vet/emergency contact information and know where the nearest medical facility is.
Most of our pups are weekly hikers because who doesn't like to explore?? But, we do not require a set frequency. Our pack includes hikers that join us multiple times per week to once per month or just when Fido needs to get out his/her zoomies! Our services page includes pricing detail for our different packages.
We go out rain or shine... for the most part. If there are thunderstorms or torrential storms in the area, we may have to cancel our hike for safety reasons. It doesn't happen often, but we try and give you as much notice as possible so you can make alternate plans for your pup. Summer months are brutal here in the ATL! As such, we go out earlier in the morning and limit these hikes to dogs that are able to withstand the hotter temps. We also make sure they get wet! Whereas, in the winter, we may also shift our schedule to accommodate the colder temps and available daylight.
A well rested dog means a well behaved dog...
It is proven that frequent exercise and social interaction with other dogs can help reduce anxiety, behavioral problems and lead to better weight management in pets.
By promoting an active lifestyle, a routine hike with Two Chicks and a Pack can help:
Specific dog breeds require different exercise regimes. Below is an example of some breeds and their suggested amount of daily exercise.
Speak with your vet if you have concerns about your dogs ability to participate; we can help plan a routine that is perfect for your dog with modifications for senior hikers and dogs recovering from injuries.
We're trained walkers and are certified in pet CPR and First-Aid. Although most handlers have their own pups, each handler is well-trained in dogs' body language, breed limitations, trail terrain, and reading different social interactions among our pack!

We hike a wide variety of parks each week and try to keep our schedule always changing. From National Parks, State Parks, and local community parks, our pack and private hikes are based on our weekly customized schedule. We hike as far north as Red Top Mountain State Park and as far south as Cochran Mills community park.
If your dog loves hiking but isn’t very social, we have options to ensure they can still enjoy the experience comfortably and safely. One great choice is a private hike tailored specifically to your dog's needs. This allows them to explore the outdoors, get plenty of exercise, and enjoy nature without the stress of interacting with other dogs. We also offer trail training hikes with a certified dog trainer that can help integrate your dog into our pack hikes safely and responsibly. Our team will work closely with you to create the perfect hiking experience for your pup!
The first thing to do after a meet & greet is to submit all of the required enrollment docs. If there are any special dietary requirements or gear you would like to have ready, gather those items for the first hike day. Then, get a box of tissues ready because a lot of our clients get as emotional sending their pup out for their first adventure day as they do sending their kids off to school!
Depending on specific instructions, our handlers will ensure each pup is tucked in safe at home if you are not there. Whether Fido goes into a crate or you want them to enjoy a peanut butter kong until dinner, each handler will follow your drop-off instructions to the letter!
Most dogs will want to immediately take and a nap to rest up for their next hike! However, it is also important to regularly check your dog after our hikes for ticks, especially in the spring through fall months here in Georgia. While we make every effort to keep the dogs on designated trails to avoid these nasty little guys AND we always do a spot check after our hikes, we can't guarantee we will spot them every time.
